Frank Lee Wright Sr of Houston Texas passed away on Saturday, February 4, 2023, at the age of 66.
Frank was born in Alto, La on December 17, 1956, to J.C. and Pearlie Wright. Frank was known to be
very active in sports and outdoor activities. During his early teen years, he relocated to Houston
excelling in football while attending Smiley High School. As a result, he received a scholarship to Texas
Southern University, later transferred to the University of Houston and briefly attended the University of
Houston Law School. He graduated from the University of Houston with an associate degree in Business.
Frank owned a small toy store, later became a blue collar worker and spent the later years of his life as a
farmer. In the year 1983, he met his wife Tena in which he married. During their marriage, the couple
had 4 children Mary, J.C., April and Frank Jr. Frank loved and cared for his family and grandchildren and
adored the things that mattered to them. He was also a father figure to some of his nieces and
nephews, stepping in as needed. If you needed something, he would help and did for so many of his
family and friends throughout his life.
Frank was a ‘Jack-of-all-Trades’ and his hobbies included; repairing and fixing things, collecting coins,
going to the casino, playing the lotto, watching Godzilla movies and drinking his morning coffee. He also
loved being outdoors which included raising hogs, farming, hunting, and fishing with his brothers, sons,
and nephew.
Frank is survived by his wife Tena and his children Mary, J.C., April, and Frank Jr; His four
grandchildren Leela, Harper, Peyton, and Jaide; His mother Pearlie Wright and his sisters; Odessa, Mary,
Ruby, Alberta, Marie, Shirley and brothers; William and Dennis.
Proceeded him in death are his grandparents Redmon and Katie Wright and Erin and Carrie Miles; His
father J.C.; His brothers Joseph and Jerry; His nephew Kenneth and nieces Cassandra and Lakesha.
