Gloria Ann Collier, a longtime resident of Fort Worth, Texas was called
home to be with The Lord on December 5, 2020.
Gloria was born on July 17, 1950 in Crockett, Texas. She graduated from
Florence High School in Florence, Arizona in 1968. After graduating, she
worked at Florence Hospital as a nurse’s aide for several years. Upon
relocating to Ft. Worth, she began a full time career as an Executive
Claims Manager for Aetna Insurance and retired after 30+ years of
service. She also worked part time as a medical billing and coding
specialist for Doctor Beauford Basped’s office for 20+ years.
Early in life Gloria accepted Christ
and joined Concord Baptist Church
in Ft. Worth Texas where she
served as an usher for several years.
Although Gloria had one daughter, Lorene,
she provided for and raised many others.
She was known for her warm smile
and vivacious laugh. She was a loving
mother, sister, aunt, and friend.
She loved online shopping, cooking,
and spending time with family.
Most importantly she
was well known for her amazing pot of greens,
aka The Original Glory Greens.
Gloria was preceded in death by her grandparents Samuel and Viola
Craig; her parents Joe and Mildred Brice; sisters Barbara Jean Hatcher
and Sharon Dightman.
Gloria is survived by her only child, Lorene Collier; brothers Mose Woods,
Bobby Woods (Lynn), Joe Christopher Brice (Regina); sisters Debra Tyler
(Nathaniel), Dorian Hopkins (Jeffery), and Sandra Ishman. Gloria also
leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends to cherish
her memories.
