Isaac “Bro” Jones, Jr. was born to the union of the late Isaac Jones, Sr and Angelina
Washington Jones. Born October 6, 1942, in New Orleans, LA to the late he was
the second of 9 children. He departed this life October 24,2022 at 80 years of age
in Austin, Texas.
Isaac was baptized at an early age at St. Marks Baptist Church in Gretna, Louisiana by
Pastor Tremble. He was educated in New Orleans public schools.
Well known as a hard worker, Isaac was a dedicated and proficient welder for
many years at Avondale Shipyards and eventually retired from Todd shipyards.
He was a firm believer in standing on his convictions and often shared his life
experiences with children, grandchildren, family and friends and anyone who
stood still long enough to listen. Isaac loved to dress well, eat well, and had
mastered one the best banana pudding recipes on the Westbank.
From childhood and well into adulthood he could often be found standing behind
his fishing pole.
Like many native New Orleanians after Hurricane Katrina he relocated to and
became a resident of Austin Texas until the time of his passing.
Isaac leaves to cherish his memories: 7 sons , Isaac Jones, III; Steven Hall, Darvin
Hall, Carl Hall (Shirlene), Carrasio Hall , Kenyan Jones and Isaac Idris Jones, Jr., 3
daughters Ebony Hall, Nyette Hall Price (Gregory), , Mashawn Hall. His loving and
devoted companion, Diane Jackson. 38 grandchildren, 61 great grandchildren. 3
sisters ; Joyce Jones, Theresa Jones and Phyllis D. Jason.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, Isaac Jones, Sr. and Angelina
Washington Jones, 4 sons, Byron Hall, Timicka Hall, Isaac Johnson and Idris
Johnson, , 1 daughter; Larnita Redell Hall ; 2 brothers, Charles Jones, Sr. , Curtis
Jones, 3 sisters, Lillian Jones , Rosemary “Piggy” Jones and Angelina Jones.
