Lady Joyce Higgins was called from labor to reward Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at a local hospital. She was surrounded by her loving family. Celebration of life: 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, at Beth Eden Missionary Baptist Church, 3208 Wilbarger St., Dr. B.R. Daniels Sr., host pastor, and Bishop Mark D. Kirkland, eulogist. Interment: Cedar Hill Memorial Park. Visitation: You may visit Mother Higgins noon to 5 p.m. Friday at Serenity Funerals & Cremations and the family will receive friends 7 to 9 p.m. at Greater St. Mark Ministries, 1732 Liberty St. Survivors: Those left to cherish her loving memory are her children, Michael Bowers (Norlean), Gary Bowers Sr. (Gloria), Sandra Fields (James), Rhonda Reynolds (Stanford), Billy Bowers Sr. (Carleta), Valerie Sue Brown (Greg) and LaShonda Higgins; 35 grandchildren; 64 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Bobbie Montgomery, Billie Thomas (Mainer) and Jackie Bray; cousin, Audrey Hester; sister-in-law, Linda Montgomery; and a host of other relatives and friends.
