Gail’s Life Story
On the 22nd day of January, in the year of 1953. A baby girl was born to the parentage of Ergene and Bessie Mae Brown. This took place in the City of Mineola, Texas and they named their daughter, Sharion Gail.
She grew up and attended the public schools there in Mineola and was a graduate of Mineola High School. She later attended Texas Women’s University.
Sharion accepted Christ as her personal Savior and was baptized at the St. Paul Baptist Church in Mineola, and after relocating to Fort Worth in 1972, she united with the McMillian United Methodist Church where she served in many areas of the Church such as United Women of Faith (formerly United Methodist Women), Circle President, District Officer, Conference Officer, Co-Chair SPRC and Church Women United.
Early in her life she met Leslie Smith and they became friends. A courtship evolved and they were united in Holy Matrimony. They remained a loving couple until the Lord call Leslie home. Two beautiful daughters were born to this union.
On Saturday, March 4, 2023, Sharion Gail Smith heard the Master say, “Well Done” and she traded this earthly home for her “Heavenly Home.” She was preceded in death by her parents, Ergene and Bessie Mae Brown; husband, Leslie Smith; and sister, Thomisena Williams.
Those left to cherish her memory: her daughters, MeOsha K. Bell and Marlana T. Smith; grandchildren, Leslie E.G. Bell and Kenyada D.H. Bell; brother, Adolphus ”Jack” Brown; sister, Demetrius Stephens (Shaw) and a host of other relatives and many friends.
