Vallie Mae Samuel-Howard was born January 23rd, 1938 to Houston, Sr. and Cleo Benjamin-Samuel in Kountze, Texas. Her parents and eight siblings preceded her in death, Three brothers, J.B., Charlie B. and Freddie B., five sisters, Lillie Mae, Annie Lee, Ivy, Betty Mae and Irma Lee, and one granddaughter Taneisha Howard She received her foundational education at G. W. Carver School in Kountze Texas. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age, and was baptized into the Church of GOD in Christ pastored by Elder Redmond. Upon moving to Houston Texas, Vallie became a member of Greater Love Mission Church of GOD in Christ. Vallie Mae married Joe Howard and to this union two children were born. They remained married until his passing in 1975. She was the President of the pastors aide auxiliary and was also given the honorary title of “Mother of the Church” for the Greater Love Mission Church of God in Christ. She served faithfully in her labor to the Lord. On June 10th 2015, Vallie Mae Samuel-Howard heard the master say “ Well done thy good and faithful servant” and crossed the finish line of this life transitioning from earthly labor to heavenly reward. She leaves to cherish her life’s most precious and sacred memories; one son Edward Joe Howard; one daughter, Mary Howard-Fuller (Michael); two sisters, Mary Lee-Henderson, Lorine Bird (Frank); two brothers, Houston Samuel Jr (Ruby), J.C. Samuel (Lisa); grandchildren, Andre McCarter (Tamika); Lakisha Robertson (Fred) Kendrick Perkins; Joslyn Nicole Howard; Jadeus Howard, Josh Ekiem Howard, An’tuane Marquis Howard; one great grandchild Kalea Perkins; a beloved aunt Berda Willis and a host of other nieces , nephews, and other extended family and friends.
